Originally completed in the early 19th century, the Capitol has undergone several expansions to accommodate the growing United States government. Most notably, the original wooden dome was replaced between 1855 and 1866 with the magnificent cast-iron dome seen today. This engineering achievement not only strengthened the structure but also created the instantly recognizable silhouette that defines the Capitol’s presence in Washington, D.C. today.

This model pays homage to that transformation, faithfully reflecting the proportions and architectural complexity of the replacement dome, including the tiered structure and its crowning lantern.

All of our models are crafted to order, ensuring each piece receives meticulous attention to detail and finishing at our artisan studio in Yorkshire, United Kingdom. Before dispatch, every item is carefully inspected through a comprehensive quality assurance process to confirm it meets our standards of precision, craftsmanship, and presentation.

We aim to dispatch standard orders within 7–10 working days (Monday to Friday) from the date of purchase. Custom commissions may take longer depending on their complexity and specific requirements; estimated time frames will be provided during the commissioning process.
